Tanning Beds: Why Dermatologists Don't Use the Word 'Safe'

Indoor tanning devices were upgraded to Group 1 — known carcinogenic to humans — by the IARC in 2009, the same category as tobacco and asbestos. The risk increase is large enough that dermatologists treat any indoor tanning as a clear risk factor.
